OK Mail Continuing to spam me.

I'm continuing to get spam from OK Mail, despite trying to remove myself from their junk mail list several times. This is very frustrating.

Over 5 days ago they said I'd stop receiving their junk, within 5 working days. But that was a lie. I have therefore submitted a complaint. let's see what happens.

Where am I going?

It's Monday Evening. I'm up at 6am tomorrow. What fun. Annyway, I'm not quite ready to go to bed and am going to ramble instead.

I played in the Bloggerment for the first time in months last night. Rosie convinced me to give it a go, but I think I was too scared and was blinded out into 10th place. I couldn't think of anything useful to say in the chat. And therefore resigned myself to saying either "woof" or "grrr". I hope no one thought I was being rude.

On Friday, my boss told me I had to sort out my life, and while he's right, I'm not really sure what I want which is a bit of an arse. I'm not particularly fussed about things that seem to interest other people such as sports or getting drunk. The Yes Man book that I've read has inspired me to try saying yes to more things. But what's the point if I'll just get bored and annoyed?

Anyway, my buddy is really getting into the trading malarky, and we have a budget to get a hot chick to come work with us. The main requirement for this project is that the chick must be damn hot, easy, and have no employment contract (or we'd get sued). Other than moral boosting, there isn't really a need for her, as we in no way need another person. I'm not sure how this stands in the eyes of employment law, though I'm guess Juice will let me know. Is it permitted to hire a trading assistant purely on looks? Or do I have to have some annoying wannabe alpha male, just because he has qualifications? Will the law frown on me if I reject every male CV? Or can I specify that only hot chicks have a chance?

Anyway, here's a brief job spec:

Hot chick required for traders' assistant role. Chick must be hot, young and single. Required duties will include:

- making tea.
- massages.
- making eggs.
- table dancing.
- excel monkeying.
- short skirts.
- trading strategy development and presentations.

If you know anyone suitable please let me know.

QuizPlayer Won't Stop Spamming Me

The unsubscribe function from QuizPlayer doesn't seem to work. They are based in UK, so I've threatened to complain about them. Here's the email I sent:

Hi,

I have attempted to unsubscribe many times over the past few weeks, but you are still sending me unsolicited junk mail.

Please unsubscribe me and send me £100 to compensate for the inconvenience. My paypal address is paypal@...

If I receive anymore SPAM from you I shall make a complaint to http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints/privacy_and_electronic_communications.aspx
regards,

The Edge

I don't expect to get unsubscribed, but it'll be interesting to see what response I get.

Dirty Paedo from Turkey

I'm trying to find a good way to exploit Yahoo Chat. It seems to be full of Indians trying to scam westerners, which is fair enough, but I'm trying to find a good way to exploit them for my own gains.

Anyway, here is the transcript:

Paedo: i am playing with my hard cock
god: Erm. that's not very appetising.
Paedo: u dont like
BUZZ!!!
Paedo: ?
god: How do I report you for being a potential paedophile?

I've filed an abuse report with Yahoo, but am not sure what they'll do.

Moving onto other things, I just lost a $20+2 SNG at Pacific. Doh. I went all in with 2 pair (KQo) on a AKQ bord. What a muppet. My opponent had JTo.

The financial news over the past few days has been dominated by Northern Rock's fall from grace. I'm not sure what to think about all the old pensioners queing up outside the banks.

Part of me thinks that they're being a bit stupid; following the crowd and fueling the hysteria. Their money is probably safe, and I believe that the government will bail them out if the shit hits the fan, as if the public loses faith in cash deposits with major banks, then the country's economy would fall apart.

However, another part of me understands why they may be doing it. If they have a sizeable amount of cash at NR, whether or not they're fueling the hysteria, they'd want to look after number one and get their cash out quick. Why would an individual choose to risk their assets, when the only beneficiary is a bank that's probably bummed them with excessive fees over the year?

I guess this is one of those game theory situations. It's better for the whole population if they don't panic. But it's better for an individual if they choose to panic.

Anyway, I have a bit of personal cash in a cash ISA at Northern Rock, but am not too fussed. I was thinking of withdrawing the cash a couple of weeks ago, in order to clear my mortgage, but then noticed that I need to wait until November if I want my interest payment. How annoying.

Another annoying thing in the news was Menzies Campbell's attack on higher earners. Apparently they've had too good a time under Labour, and he wants to target them with higher taxes. I'm obviously against this, as I aim to become a higher earner, and dislike the implication that high earners are undeserving people who've just got lucky. Also, the guys who really scam the tax system, such as IT contractors, are always going to have tax scams going. So it's the PAYE muppets like my badself - who already taxes - who'll get done over by this. In the next election, I therefore cannot vote Labour or Lib Dems, and my choices are narrowing. Maybe I'll just pop another lung and stay in hospital for a few days.

Spam Update : Unsubscribe from OK Mail failed

Last Saturday OK Mail said that they'd stop sending me spam within 5 working days. However, I've just recieved more spam from them. I'm not what I can do about it, but might try complaining here. OKM is a UK company, with their address listed as:

OK-mail Limited
30 Buckingham Gate
Victoria
London
SW1E 6NN

I've filled in the "contact us" form on their site, but don't expect a response.

Anyway, just to be safe, I've tried unsubscribing again. If I get anymore spam from them next week I'll fill in the complaints form and see what happens.

OK Mail Sending Me Processed Ham

I'm still getting Processed Ham from OK Mail. I know that they said it would take 7 days for my request to be processed. But it's still annoying, and I see no reason why such a long delay is required.

Rosie seems to think that if I send the dirty mails I've been getting from a dude called Mark, to all his friends, then I'll be a very mean person. I'm not sure what I should do with all this material I've been collecting now.

Important Shit Inside

I received a letter that has "Important Documents Enclosed" written on the outside. If the documents were important, surely the sender would prefer anonymity? I looked at the return address, and it appears to be from a direct mail company:

Direct Works, Unit 1/Union Park/Bircholt Rd, Maidstone, ME15 9XT

Direct mail is also derogatively known as spam, as defined here.

I'm going to stick it back in the post box and see what happens.

Spam Not Ham

I'm trying to get rid of spam. Both physical and electronic. A lot of mail is still being sent to my parents' address, and it's probably time I tried to stop it, though I don't know how exactly. I'm probably going to stick the paper spam back in the post with "No Longer at This address" written on it to see what happens.

Regarding electronic stuff, I've initially tried to unsubscribe from a few places. I know that a lot of places actually give you more shit if you try to unsubscribe, so I'm keeping a record here.

ok-mail - RAC and other stuff : these guys recon it'll take up to a week for the junk to stop arriving. Maybe they just want me to forget I've unsubscribed. Extreme measures will be taken if junk continues to arrive after a week.

Jo & Sarah - Competitions : these girls send me competition stuff. But I don't do competitions anymore.

Sharon Mason - Bingo Competitions

Fool.co.uk : These guys are quite well know. So I'm fairly confident that my unsubscribing request will work.

Webbrands.co.uk : These guys use the same obscure domain as ok mail for their unsubscribe system. It's very annoying that companies always use weird domains and email addresses to send SPAM from.

ofclub.co.uk : I don't trust something about Kelly's domain. And will try unsubscribing from ofclub at a later date.

Za Mache!

I have not done any Poker lately, but have a live game in Chertsey on Friday. It's a bit of a trek, but my friends have just bought a new flat and I'd like to see it.

My friend El has also bought a new flat down the road from me in Tooting. Alas, her road isn't too safe, and I was accosted by a drunk Polish builder last Thursday, not fifty yards from her front door. SMT SMT. The fool told me he'd kill me if I didn't take him to Waterloo, so I decided to call 999. Oh well. I'd recently been in contact with a girl from school who's now a police woman in the area, and she informed me that it's now very popular for Polish dudes to come to the Borough of Wandsworth and get very drunk while threatening locals. Oh well. I guess they just work hard need to let off some steam.

Edge Trading is coming along OK at the moment. My business associate has overcome most of the basic technical difficulties, but is hampered by fear. I need to get him to trade more in order to increase his confidence. Once that's out of the way we should be our way to printing millions.

Moving onto more seedy affairs, my cheapskate mate created a fake facebook persona, with which to cause trouble and humiliate random people, as well as those who have crossed us in the past. Anyway, some Londoner asked the fake persona if she wanted a one night stand. That's a very direct question. So I sent him some whore prices from the Temple of Perfection, and will forward out conversation to all his buddies if he takes the bate. NICE!
