I played a live game yesterday at my flat. The game was £10 NL cash game. It was not good. My cards were dead and a maniac stole a load of pots. My hands were so weak that there wasn't really much I could do. And when I finally made a stand I got wiped out. Oh well. I guess I should try to improve my skills but have been wasting too much time playing Oblivion on xbox lately.

I was chatting to Juice last night and he randomly came out with "Those girls on your Texas Calculatem banners are ugly". How rude! I might pass his details onto my affiliate manager!

Speaking of mingers... When talking about random crap on holiday, we discussed movies and were rather perturbed by the choice of hotties in certain movies. Good Will Huntin was a particularly confusing choice, and the fat Irishman blurted out; "lacking in wank material". I was most amused by this profound statement and we all decided that it would be great if Jonathan Ross could use that line on TV... If anyone knows of a way to get someone famous to say it, then please let me know.

A guy at work showed me a story about a Labour plan to successful peoples' incomes. I've written a rant about it here. I've yet to find a person who agrees with Harriet Harman and would like to hear from any success fearing Labour supporters out there.

Here's an interesting quote from a book I read recently, called Tuesdays with Morrie:

"It is 1979, a basketball game in the Brandeis gym. The team is doing well, and the student section begins a chant, 'We're number one! We're number one!' Morrie is sitting nearby. He is puzzled by the cheer. At one point, in the midst of 'We're number one!', he rises and yells, 'What's wrong with being number two?' The students look at him. They stop chanting. I guess I'm about number 10, when compared to the other Poker bloggers, but Morrie seems to think that it just doesn't matter as long as I can enjoy the game. Having said that, though, I don't really enjoy Poker when I'm not winning.

Also, Morrie's way can help people to enjoy their lives, it's hardly conducive towards human progress. Imagine every politician fought to become number two. There'd be no one to run the country!

The trip was a short backpacking experience. So we stayed 50/50 in cheap hotels and hostels where we shared with random punters.

Started of in Cancun. How fucking chav.

Went from Cancun to Player del Carmen. Rather than getting a piky bus we thought "fuck it" and got a taxi. Player Del Carmen was a nice tourist town. We chilled there for a couple of days.



Went down to Tulum and stayed in a hut with no electricity or running water. Not good. But they did have a nice beach.



Saw Mayan ruins in Coba. It was very hot and humid.



Got an overnight chicken bus down to Belize City, and from there to Cayes Caulker (a small island). The island felt very chilled and was full of backpackers. Did diving despite the lack of Padi. Very scary, and coral wasn't as good as in places like Thailand or Malaysia (though I've only been snorkelling in those places). Hostel in Belize had water that smelled of KFC. We shared the room with a random Dutch chick. The fat Irishman farted early morning and she ran out. Nice.



Went on to Flores in Guatemala. It's a nice little town, with cobbled streets, in the middle of a lake.



Took an early morning tour to Tikal, another place with Mayan ruins. We got up at 3.30am so that we'd be there in time for sunrise. Unfortunately a load of mist descended upon us, so we didn't really see much. Then it started to rain. SMT. They had cute packs of cat sized rodents that ran around in packs. Was very hot and humid.

From Flores, we took a flight to Antigua in Guatemala. It's another cobbled street town arranged in a big grid. Stayed in a hostel, sharing with 6 Danish chicks. They got changed in front of us which was great. But I didn't think it would be polite to take photos for you. The fat Irishman managed to get them out of the room at 6am by farting in his sleep.



Went on a volcano tour. The molten lava was so hot I thought my face was going to get cooked.

My BR continues to go nowhere in particular. Though I have had a few successful sessions. Along with the other bloggers, I've left Inter (need to remember to cash out!), as I lost consistently there - even having to deposit more than once. It's strange how a different Poker room can feel so different. But one thing I didn't like about Inter was the small starting stakes in the SNG's. Small stakes mean that luck is more of an issue. Also, the small stakes probably made me more scared and nervous.

In terms of software I've just been using Poker Office. There is something called Calculatem Pro. But I have yet to ascertain whether or not it's better than the standard Calculatem that I use.

Did my tax return and found that I owe a couple of grand due to my website stuff. Very annoying. But what can I do. Am not too sure who I can vote for in the next election. People like myself don't really fit into any category that MP's will target. We're just here to subsidise people who need subsidising. I'd like to vote for the party with the least social conscience, but ascertaining who that is will be more effort than it's worth.

I'm back from Central America. The trip was good, if a little minging, and I'll write about it another time.

No that I'm back I really need to get a move on with my little projects...

- Get my Markov text generator done, with pages indexed in Google.
- Promote my ranting forum a bit more, and try to get regular participants.
- Write the spreadbetting scraper for Thomas Tank.

I have received the invitation from the ambassador for reception of
the visa. My director has given me long-term holiday from work and I
have gone to Moscow to receive the visa. I informed good news to
Patrick, but he has answered, that does not want our meeting. He
played with me. He has informed that has the wife with two children
and at all has no plans to meet me. I was not ready to such turn of
events. I could not think what even after 8 months of acquaintance he
can so unscrupulously act with me. Now I am in Moscow trip to Moscow
and reception of visa. I do not want that all was gone for nothing and
will be glad if my visa will be useful to our meeting. I could arrive
already through 4-5 days, but a problem in that that now I have no man
which would like my arrival. Probable it will silly sound but if you
will be interested in a meeting with the good woman I shall like to
meet you sometime soon! As Patrick was dishonest with me I have
decided to find the man which is interested to meet the woman from
Russia. I do not know your ideas about my letter, but it would be fine
if we could meet and have some weeks or months together. On my trip I
want to receive rest from my work and a life in Russia. Also the basic
purpose for the future it is search good men for serious attitudes
which go to a marriage. I have no children, but I want to have
children in the future. I am the mature woman and ready to creation of
family with good man. I do not know what you really search in the
future but if we could meet I shall be happy to discuss with you more
about our meeting. What are you going to do this time? It would be
fine if we could meet, do friendship or more than simply friendship. I
shall be happy if you also have a free time and we could meet soon. I
