A night of laughs

Last night was an amusing night in front of the TV and Poker tables.

Crazy atheist scientist, Richard Dawkins, was trying to get himself assasinated by publicly mocking Christians, Muslims and Jews. He was very brave in publicly sharing his contempt of blind faith. Not sure it Juice would agree with Dawkins as the Poker Gods have taken him far. Here are a few links to blogs that have also commented on Dawkin's show.

Let's be sensible

The fish were abound at Pacific Poker, though I still have yet to optimise my play. One opponent helped me cap pre-flop with T8s. He continued playing aggressively until the river, even though he didn't even hit a pair or draw. My AA help up.

Acorn - please help me with the following!

Later on I was doing some NL just to keep Juice company. I raised 4BB to protect my QQ from the small blind. I had one caller. The flop was Q33, giving me a full house. I didn't want to scare him off. So I checked the turn. The flop was a rag so I bet half the pot and the villain raised. I called the raise and bet the pot on the river. Not sure if that was the best move as he folded. Maybe I should have re-raised the turn???

Always tough but I'd probably put him on an Ace or pp.Unless you have a 3 or Q he is ahead hence the reraise which you could only call if you had a Q or 3 in your hand.

Once you called his raise he's probably done with the hand.

As first to act you could have checked on the river and hoped to induce a bet or bluff but rightly or wrongly I can never resist betting out if I have something.

Its a tough call on what to bet though. He's only likely to call a pot size bet with a set of threes. You may have got another few bucks out of him with a value bet of $1-$3 but I tend to bet the pot as I'd hate let him off cheaply if he did have trip 3's.
